The EIA reported a +61 bcf injection for the week ending June 15. The number was +5 bcf above the +56 bcf mark our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +6 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The region that deviated the most from the model’s estimate was the Midwest, where injections were stronger than anticipated. Our flow model suggested that injections should have decreased modestly week over week and was supported by the increased power burns and PWCDDS . However injections actually ca.....

The EIA reported a +78 bcf injection for the week ending June 8. The number was +9 bcf below the +87 bcf mark our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +10 bcf below the Bloomberg median. The two regions where our flow model was off were the Midwest and South Central – both regions injected 5 bcf less than our model had predicted. These two regions have occasionally proven difficult for our flow model to predict due to the lack of reporting from intrastate systems in those regions. Takin.....

Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the injection season are included in the attachment. The EIA reported a +106 bcf injection for the week ending June 1. The number was +2 bcf above the +104 our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +7 bcf above the Bloomberg median. Strong production levels and limited demand in the Northeast, combined with the large year over year storage deficit led utilities to play catch-up, with TCO and DOM injecting a record-breaking su.....

The EIA reported a +81 bcf injection for the week ending May 25, the number included a reclassification of 4 Bcf of working gas to base gas in the Mountain region, implying the total injection to working gas stocks was actually +85 bcf. The reported number was +8 bcf above what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +4 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The largest difference regionally, excluding the reclassification, was observed in the South Central with injections coming in +8 bcf abov.....

The EIA reported a +75 bcf injection for the week ending May 18, +7 bcf above what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +6 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The largest differences were observed in the South Central and East which saw 5 and 3 Bcf injections above our estimates, respectively. The miss in the South Central estimate is likely due in part to the record high receipts from the Northeast in the early part of the week, combined with lower than average deliveries to the Midwes.....

The EIA reported a +68 bcf injection for the week ending May 11, +5 bcf above what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +6 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The largest differences were in the Midwest and Mountain which were +5 bcf and +3 bcf higher than our estimates, respectively. Our underestimation of the Midwest is likely due to an overemphasis on the impact of Vector pipeline outage during its second week of restrictions to Dawn and Eastern Michigan. The Vector outage caused a s.....

The EIA reported a +45 bcf injection for the week ending May 4, -7 bcf below what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and -10 bcf below the Bloomberg median. The largest difference was in the Midwest which was -9 Bcf below our model’s estimate. The large miss in both our model and market expectations for the Midwest was most likely due to a combination of Vector pipeline outages and higher than expected gas burns. The Vector pipeline outage beginning on May 1st and extending to May 8th.....

The EIA reported a +67 bcf injection for the week ending April 27, +1 bcf above what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +5 bcf above the Bloomberg median. On a whole our flow model was fairly accurate this week, however inter-regionally there was an overestimation in the Midwest which was offset by an underestimation in the South Central region. A sudden unexpected end of the week decline in deliveries from the South Central into the Midwest caused our regional balances to be off......

The EIA reported a +74 bcf injection for the week ending April 20, -3 bcf below what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +1 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The most significant deviation in our flow model, once again, proved to be Midwest where our estimate was 5 bcf higher than the reported injection. As mentioned in last week’s report, the deviation between our data source, which reports injections/withdrawals and the EIA who reports inventory levels, caused complications in es.....

The EIA reported a +54 bcf injection for the week ending April 13, -6 bcf below what our flow model had anticipated on Tuesday and +4 bcf above the Bloomberg median. The largest variance came in the Midwest, which was in part anticipated and explained on our Wednesday note: we traced our higher than consensus estimate for the Midwest to the data source used in our flow model. In some pipeline systems, storage inventory changes are reported in two separate ways, as the sum of nominated inject.....
